Finally a chair safe to climb!
USIT is an innovative piece of furniture that is both a chair and a stepladder. Designed by Maarten Olden.
USIT originated in the desire to create a stepladder that fits into a contemporary interior. Today’s stepladders often look too utilitarian, and they are quickly returned to storage after being used. Although it is collapsible, the USIT doesn’t have to be stowed away. The 2 step version of USIT can be used as a seat, the 3 step version as a high stool.
As an object the USIT stylishly combines wood and aluminium with innovative details.
USIT everywhere
The USIT can be used everywhere, keep it stand-by at the office, in your shop or at home in your kitchen or livingroom. The possibilities are endless, just USIT.
PRODUCED IN EUROPE
The USIT is DUTCH DESIGN and manufactured in the European Union. It is made of European high quality wood and the supply of the best quality wood veneer. The wood supply-chain is therefore FSC certified, operating in an environmental, economic and social responsible way.
PATENT REGISTRATION
Both the design as well as the technical construction of the USIT are awarded with a patent, this guarantees that the USIT will remain one-of-a-kind for many years and an inspiration for future designs.
INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION
Successful presentations at Dutch Design Week (DDW) and the international well known Furniture Show in Milan Salone Internazionale del Mobile made the international media and design industry embrace the USIT as a welcome and very useful one-of-a-kind design product.

The jury of the international experts of the German Design Award awarded the USIT even with the Special Mention title, which was a beautiful compliment and the motivation to start the production at the highest quality level and make the USIT available for the whole world.
SAFETY APPROVAL
The USIT is the unique result of the challenge to combine the highest safety standards with an attractive design. Thanks to the unique construction, being elegant and at the same time extremely strong, the USIT succeeds to manage both priorities: Safe and Beautiful. USIT is easily passing the EU safety standard for step stools including a strength test up to 350kg. Product certification and production management is certified by the German TÜV testing house.
